dvd players ratings

What are the scan ratings of cable interconnects?
I know HDMI cable can deliver 720p or 1080i. What about the other types of interconnect?
SCART
Standard Video (yellow plug)
YPbPr
S-Video
Composite video
Basically I’ve just got an HDTV and want to find the best way to reconnect my digital TV box (SCART out only), my DVD player (HDMI is probably the best output here) and my Wii (not a clue as t the best ouput).
Nope sorry there is no scan limit made by the each of these transports, merely what the manufacture will put down it. Some are a function of physical characteristics, but component being the exception, with commercial support up to 1080p 120p frames, and it seems that it can handle more. Only reason it is limited to 1080i 60i is DRM from the studios.
S-Video is generally limited to 540i or 480i depending on where you are in the world.
Scart can handle both a S-video type and component with similar resolution but is limited up to 540i it will depend greatly on the manufacture and cable you use.
Composite is not supported above 480i, but again it seems to be able to handle just a few lines more, but no video standard exists to use this.
The “best ” hook up is going to vary greatly on what equipment you have and the application you intend to use it for. Provide model numbers and you will get a more targeted answer.

Chess Players $22.76 Based on a short-story by the renowned Hindi writer Premchand, and directed by Indian film master Satyajit Ray, THE CHESS PLAYERS tells the story of the independent Indian kingdom of Awadh–ruled by the art- and music-loving King Wajid Ali Shah–that becomes threatened with the colonial aspirations of the British Empire and the devious machinations of a British General (Sir Richard Attenborough, JURASSIC PARK) eager to annex the kingdom. Meanwhile, two wealthy landowners, Mirza and Mir become obsessively involved in their endless chess games, seemingly oblivious to the chess-like moves being made all around them. Mirza and Mir come to represent the weakness and apathy of the Indian people (the film was made in 1977 during a major democratic crisis in modern India) as they ignore not only the political activity surrounding them, but also the sexual dissatisfaction of their wives, who both find new lovers. Using exquisite performances, and a perfectionist’s eye for detail, Ray conjures a historical epic and tells a strange tale of a self-involved and emasculated people in danger of losing everything. As is frequently the case in the films of Satyajit Ray, there are no villains and there are no heroes, only meticulously imagined pawns in a grand historical and sociological game.
