dvd grotesque
Anyone seen that 2009 banned movie Grotesque?
I bought the unrated dvd on the net, I heard its banned in the UK which is pretty weird because its rare for films to be banned in these days. Has anyone seen it? I thought it was pretty disturbing, didnt go as far as I’d hoped but for today’s standards its pretty extreme.
I would like to hear others opinions on this and if it should be banned
It was banned because the government thought it would encourage mindless violence, obviously to an extreme extent, otherwise they’d just have released it with a 21+ rating.
Avatar was banned in China recently for similar reasons, as they thought it would encourage rebellion. It was not officially banned, only restricted to 3-D viewings, which effectively stopped most of the population from seeing it, due to the shortage of 3-D cinemas there.
