I need advice on pricing a G4 Mac?
I need advice on value, I don’t know a lot about macs and I’ve received offers that say my asking is unfair so I am curious if anyone could tell me what they think the value of this would be. Specs are below.
The computer has a G4 400 MHz processor. This line of G4 Power Mac added an onboard 1000Base-T Ethernet. It comes with 1 GB RAM
(memory), 20 GB Master Hard Drive and a 40 GB Slave Hard Drive for
Storage, DVD-ROM Drive, Zip 100 Drive, AirPort Slot, ATI Rage128Pro
AGP Graphics Video Card (VGA and ADC connectors), 3 PCI slots below
the AGP slot, Ethernet Port. There are 2 Firewire and 2 USB Ports in
the rear, Sound In and Out Ports, L2 Cache 1 MB and 4 memory slots
that can hold up to 2.0 GB RAM. It comes with Power Cable, matching OS 10.3.9 is installed. It comes with Apple software like iLife (iTunes, iMovie, iPhoto), AppleWorks 6 and iWork (Pages and keynote).
I don’t know what you’re asking for this box, but using Froogle, I found a similar one for US $250 (without monitor).
With the release of the Intel-based Macs and G4-based Mac Minis selling for less than US $500, it may be tough to get much for an older G4 tower.
